June 2009 Nursing Board Exams: 80,000 graduates to take exams
MANILA – Close to 80,000 graduates are to take the nursing licensure examinations scheduled on June 6 and 7, 2009 an official of the Professional Regulations Commission (PRC) announced.
Marco Sto. Tomas, a member of the PRC’s Board of Nursing, said a total of 78,574 graduates are to take the exams, with Manila having the highest number of examinees at 42,338.

The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announces that 32, 617 out of 77, 901 passed the Nurse Licensure Examination given by the Board of Nursing in the cities of Manila, Baguio, Cagayan de Oro, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Lucena, Tacloban, Tuguegarao, Sulu, Pagadian and Zamboanga last June 2009.
The members of the Board of Nursing are Carmencita M. Abaquin, Chairman; Leonila A. Faire, Betty F. Merritt, Perla G. Po, Marco Antonio C. Sto.Tomas, Yolanda C. Arugay and Amelia B. Rosales, Members.
The results of examination with respect to three (3) examinees were withheld as stated in Board Resolution dated July 24, 2009.

The Professional Regulation Commission announced that 32,617 out of 77,901 passed the Nurse License Examination in various cities nationwide.
Golda Manto Yap, a graduate of Felipe Verallo Memorial Foundation in Cebu, topped the board examination with a rating of 86.90 percent, followed by Ronie Rose Capati Arevalo of Adamson University with 86.40 percent.
Arellano University graduate Michelle Barberan placed third, with 86.20, while Caroline May Chamen of Philippine College of Health and Sciences and Clarissa Escober of Naga College Foundation were fourth with 86 per cent.

On June 10, 2009 thousands upon thousands of Philippine Nursing graduates will be flocking to Manila to take the June 2009 Nursing Board Exams. Each of these Nursing hopefuls bring along with them not just their dreams and aspirations, but their parents hopes as well. It wouldn’t be much of a stretch to imagine that at least 90% of these examinees want to pass the exams so they can work abroad. And why not? A total of 32,617 out of 77,901 passed the June 2009 Nurse Licensure Examination (NLE) or just about 48 percent got good results. This is based on the announcement made by the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) last Saturday.
Golda Manto Yap, a graduate of the Felipe R. Verallo Memorial Foundation in Cebu, topped the June 2009 Nusing board exams, getting an average score of 86.80 percent.
